A little bit about me
I began my journey in fashion design and I specialized myself in fur and leather design. I had the opportunity to go on an internship at Saga Fur in Copenhagen. I did R&D to develop different technics to transform fur into a softer textile. I also had one of my creation chosen for the “Festival Mode et Design de Montréal” that was a mix of different electronic components and metal structure integrated on different materials and textiles.
A while after, I decided to push my comprehension of the world relations and history with an undergraduate in international relations in which I specialized myself in latin American economics development and human rights. After it, I choose to do a master degree in international law and international politics in which I had the opportunity to work in a research group on technological development for latin American economic and social development at the “Instituto de Investigaciones Económicas” of the “Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México”. Finally, I’m cumulating now half certificates in English, Spanish and Chinese mandarin.
Coming from a fashion design background, I’m aware of different design and prototyping methods but I would like to push to competencies further by the mastering of other technics and methods related to technological integration. Considering my academic and professional journey, I have two big fields of interest: Art, fashion and technology and the appropriation of technology for social and economic empowerment.
I'm now working at écohFab for 4 years already as a coordinator and projects manager. It as been an incredible journey for me and I'm very thankful to all échoFab's team for that amazing working place.
Finaly, I would like to involve myself in the development of the Canadian movement and échoFab's by developing strong hardware and software knowledge and competencies to complete my background. Already committed to the values and way of working together of the Fab Lab movement, Fabricademy would push my technical capacity to a higher level and give me concrete skills so I can integrate myself in the development of the local and national movement with a more powerful profile.
